I would not discontinue the pursuit of calculus all together. I would just have their be two focuses that include a combination of statistics and applied calculus.

I like how he says that, "passion is the key to success," and that, "education doesn't feed people's passions."
Through out my journey with Teach For America I plan on trying to reach out to children and help them identify their passions.
I wonder how I can do this and above all how I can do this as a math teacher.
